“A Seed”
Phillip LaMarche, 1988
Christ planted a seed in Jerusalem
He nurtured it with blood
He fed it with his life
The vine became a flood
It burst the bonds of evil
It shocked the world of sin
It grew and spread; became a flame
The power and strength of Jesus’ Name.
For love is like a burning fire
Yet tender as an infant choir
And love is like an awesome flood
Yet precious as our Teacher’s blood.
So let us spread the story
Pass the flame to everyone
This is our strength and glory
Through it God’s will be done.
“The Shepherd”
Phillip LaMarche, 1989
Winding slowly o’er the hills
The Shepherd leads his flock;
Their spirits keen, their hopes held high,
He leads them onward ne’er to die.
Wolves of fear will cry and howl
And unnamed terrors prowl;
Through lonely rocks the path is bleak,
Yet still their souls he’ll safely keep.
Calling gently all our names,
He leads us one by one;
What is his strength, this mighty Son,
This Man of love, this Lord of man?
Bleeding, dying, for us all,
Oh! no mere man is He;
Creation’s soul He is the whole;
The mighty God does us enthrall.
Living always in his love,
He guides us from above,
And rivers, valleys, hills rejoice
To hear the sweetness of his voice.
“Untitled”
Phillip LaMarche & Michel Aymotte
I woke up this morning, and realized that I was alive.
Alive but where?: at home, in heaven, or hell?
As the fog clears up, I know that I am in a good place,
a place where all can be as well
Goodbye Fear, Foul, Fiend from Hell
I did not recognize you for a very long time, because of the darkness around me
You made the darkness, You made the light. You can set us FREE
